Microsoft handed over patent to HMD Global

Microsoft Mobile recently handed over a large number of patent to the Finnish company HMD Global, which is currently known to launch a series of new smartphones under the name " Nokia " brand on the market. HMD owns the license for the brand name Nokia in the area of the mobile devices and has brought the Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 Android smartphones already on the market.

The European patent office EUIPO reveals, about 500 design and patents were transferred to HMD Global Oy from Microsoft Mobile, which was behind the Lumia phones. The patent granted by Microsoft to HMD also includes a design patent, which protects the basic look of the camera app used with the Lumia. The camera app of Windows 10 Mobile and previously Windows Phone is considered to be extremely intuitive.

The camera app was first used with the Lumia 1020, one of the best camera smartphones. The Lumia 1020 had a 42-megapixel sensor on board and had a Xenon flash features that no other smartphone could offer so far. Microsoft had the optics of the camera app later also used in a number of other devices.
