Last year in November 2016, Adobe announced the first information on the new image processing program Nimbus at its own Max conference. An internal build of the software is now published by accident. Its role is to offer an ongoing experience with Lightroom Mobile, better than Lightroom currently does.

According to the French news portal MacGeneration, a small number of Creative Cloud subscribers have access to a developer-specific version of Adobe Nimbus. However, since the error was noticeable in a very short time, Adobe was able to quickly restrict access again. However, the time was limited to a few users to make screenshots of the software. An important feature is the integrated search function from Nimbus, which is intended to recognize independent image contents.

With Nimbus, the picture processing is to take place largely in the cloud, so that with different devices one can work on the same graphic one after the other. In the future, users will be able to enhance photos and other images on their smartphone or tablet. A beta must be available by the end of the year on both Mac and Windows. It remains to be seen whether this new service will be adopted by the usual users of Lightroom and whether it will attract new customers.
