Whatsapp is now testing the Launcher app shortcut on the Android app. With the help of these shortcuts, users will now be able to directly access any of the special features of Whatsapp. Let's say that the testing of this feature is currently running on the Android Beta app. At the moment, it is not clear how long it will be offered on a stable build.

The user can not update the status directly, or a pinned chat can not be reached. Rather the user gets the option to open the camera directly or go to the chat window.
