Windows 10 update login time fixed for HP users
After Microsoft delivered a new cumulative update at the beginning of the week, some users were negatively surprised: on many devices from HP, the computer started to have a long delay before the user could log on as usual.

Once the appropriate update (KB4038788) has been installed, the users have only seen a black screen. Partially it should have taken more than ten minutes before the usual login screen was accessed. Of course, this was perceived as extremely annoying by a large number of users. According to The Register, neither Microsoft nor HP have published an official statement on the error.

How to fix Windows 10 update causes HP login lag:

Meanwhile, some Reddit users who are experiencing the problem after the Windows 10 update seem to have found a way to deal with the serious bug.
  1. First, you have to search for "Services" in the Start Menu and open the displayed application.
  2. Now, find the "App-Readiness" service and terminated or stop it with a right-click.
  3. In the next step, right click again and go into its Properties.
  4. Here, Select Disabled from the Dropdown and hit OK to confirm the changes.

Performing these steps should restart the computer without a long delay on startup. It remains unclear how high the number of affected users is. Furthermore, the cause of the problem could not yet be clearly identified. Perhaps Microsoft will soon learn about the problem and provide a solution.
