WhatsApp stopped June 30
If you are among those who are still using the old software platform, then the time has come for you to find the alternative of WhatsApp. As per promise, WhatsApp will stop supporting BlackBerry OS, Blackberry 10, Nokia S40 and Nokia S60 platform from June 30. In November, the Facebook-owned company had decided that support for Blackberry and Nokia's older OS would be available until June 2017. Earlier this support had to close in December 2016. In December last year, WhatsApp stopped support for the Android 2.2 Froyo, iOS 6 and Windows Phone 7.

The most widely used instant messaging app in the world had announced last year that the company would close support for some old platforms. After that BlackBerry had complained of shutting down the support of WhatsApp from its platform. So, WhatsApp has extended support for the oldest OS until June 2017. WhatsApp gave reasons for the lack of capabilities in the old platform and for the future features in the app, they are outdated.

Explaining on their support page, WhatsApp said, "These platforms are not capable of future features in our app. If you have a mobile device with any of these platforms and you want to use WhatsApp anymore, We suggest you upgrade yourself to a new OS version that is above than Android OS 2.3.3+, iOS 7+ for iPhone or Windows Phone 8+.''

WhatsApp has also clarified that there is no way for the user to transfer chat history between platforms. However, the company has given the option to attach chat history to the mail. To understand this process, you can go to the WhatsApp Support page and get complete information.

Earlier, WhatsApp insisted on how the market has changed since the WhatsApp launch in 2009. According to the company, when the WhatsApp was launched in 2009, the market was different. At that time, the device running Android and iOS was just 25 percent, while BlackBerry and Nokia were dominated by 70 percent market share.
