Enable Android O Like Notification Dots on Any Android Device without any root access. Notification Dots is a highlighting feature on the Android O, which announced on Google I/O 2017 events. What is Notification Dots? Whenever you get a notification on your Android device for a specific app, a dot will be added at upper-right corner on that particular app icon.
If you have a Pixel or Nexus device then you can enjoy the new features of upcoming Android O through the Android O Beta program. First of all, I like to inform you that Here I'm going to use a thirst party app called Nova Launcher. The best thing about this launcher is, This Launcher allows you to have the latest features of the upcoming version of Android on your current Android device, they recently rolled out an update which enable notification dot feature on any Android device. Though the update is in the beta phase.
I divide the entire process into three parts.
1. Install The Nova Launcher(Prime):
At first, you have to install the latest version of Nova Launcher Prime from the Google Play Store. Do remember this third party launcher comes in two version, One is a free version and another is Prime version. You have to install the Nova Launcher Prime version which will cost you around Rs.150 in Indian Rupee. Cost may vary in your country.
2. Become A Beta Tester of Nova Launcher and Install the Beta Update:
As previously said that the new notification dot feature is in beta phase, You have to join the beta program and install the beta version in order to enable dots notification on Android device.
To become a beta tester, go to Nova Launcher Beta’s Play Store page, Login with same Google ID that you used on your smartphone. Now Join the beta program by clicking 'BECOME A TESTER'.
When you successfully join to the beta program you will get this kind of screen.
After joining the beta program you will receive an update for the Nova Launcher Beta, Install the update and you are ready to Get Android O Like Notification Dots.

4. Enable Android O Like Notification Dots:
Now you are few step away to enable Android O like Notification Dots. After installing the Nova Launcher Beta, set the launcher as you default launcher. Now follow the bellow steps and you are ready to rock.
- Open the Nova Launcher Setting. Then Scroll down and You will find 'Notification Badges'.
2. Open the Notification Badges by tapping on it. At the next step, Select on the 'Dots'.
That's it, It will Enable Notification Dot feature on Android Device. Now, whenever you receive a notification a dot will appear on the app.
Nova launcher also added some extra customization option for the Android O lIke Notification Dots. You can customize the position of the Dot and the size of the dot.
